Nothing, actually. Last night I finished "Bachelors Anonymous" by P.G. Wodehouse, and tonight I'll start "Love, Dad" by Evan Hunter.

Hi all! I am currently finishing the series of the Shadow Children. The author is Margaret Peterson Haddix. It's a pretty good series.

I've attached all 7 books in .mobi format.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I...

Last night I finished "Bob Servant, Hero of Dundee" by Neil Forsyth. Very funny. As well as the books I also recommend the BBC radio and tv series starring this character. He's one of those idiots (like Count Arthur Strong) who gets angry at everyone else when everything he does goes wrong.

Next up, back to Wodehouse.

Wired by Douglas E. Richards - first of a 2-book science fiction series. There's plenty of action with military types and consideration of what would happen if it was possible to radically increase intelligence.

Last night I finished "Yours, Plum", a collection of letters by P.G. Wodehouse. (The P in his name is for Pelham, which got shortened to Plum.) (And yes, I know, I seem to have misunderstood the phrase "currently reading").

Anyway, it was interesting to learn more about one of my favourite writers, but it wasn't half as much fun as reading one of his novels. I'm not sure I would've liked the guy if I could've met him. He had a lot of strong opinions I don't agree with. Also, he loved Pekinese dogs and addressed letters to his wife's young daughter Leonora to "My darling precious angel Snorkles". Ugh.

Wodehouse wrote about 100 books and I've got four left to read. One of them is a much bigger collection of his letters, which probably includes most of the ones I've just read. I'm not looking forward to that one.

I am CURRENTLY reading "Beauty and the Beast" by Ed McBain, 1982. An early entry in his Matthew Hope series, about a lawyer who always ends up investigating crimes. (He's not even a criminal lawyer!) Not bad so far.

I also read a nice little book by British comedian Simon Munnery called "How To Live". Just a bunch of jokes gathered together, a quick fun read. I had it on my amazon wishlist for a while, hoping to some day find a reasonably priced copy, as it's quite rare, but now Gofasterstripe.com have re-released it at a very reasonable price. They sent me two copies by mistake, and when I told them they said I could keep the extra one, so I passed it on to my son. Cool site, run by Chris Evans - not that one.

Update: The McBain book turned out pretty good. Now I'm reading "Birdy In Amsterdam" by E.W. Hildick, 1970. One of the first books I remember reading was "Birdy Jones, Pop Whistler". I think I inherited it from an uncle. It's a slim - not to say slight - novel, aimed at teens I guess, but I found it funny at the time and have wondered lately if it's any good by my current standards. This one, the 4th in the series, is okay so far...

Update: Yes, well, it was okay, but I don't think I'll be seeking out the others in the series in a hurry. I've just finished another light and easy read, "The Parrot And Other Poems" by P.G. Wodehouse. Most of the poems were written over a hundred years ago, but are still amusing.

I've recently finished reading 'Escape' by Iain Rob Wright, he writes mainly gory, macabre, horror stories. The first book I read of his was 'Housemates', think Big Brother, only truly evil.
I am currently listening to 'Brutally Honest' an autobiography by Mel B. I think the narration is very good and find it very hard to put down.
If anyone is interested in any of these books, PM for a download link.

Oh yes, demonoid. That's a thing again. Real life has been so busy I've had to let a lot of stuff slide, and even somehow forgot about this place. For a while.

So... what am I currently reading? Nothing. Yet again, I am posting at exactly the wrong time, having just finished a book an hour ago. It was "P.G. Wodehouse: A Life in Letters", edited by Sophie Ratcliffe. A much better book than "Yours, Plum", much more thorough and better organised and more enjoyable. Took about a month to read, but like I said, busy.

Before that I read "The McBain Brief", a collection of short stories by Ed McBain, many of which I'd read before in other anthologies - annoying when that happens, isn't it? And then there was "Objects of Affection and Other Plays for Television" by Alan Bennett - good stuff.
